Why Radial Access Is Better.
نویسنده
چکیده
T he introduction of the transradial approach has raised vascular access to a level of refinement unforeseen by the pioneers of cardiac catheterization, who relied on direct left ventricular puncture or transbronchial left atrial catheterization to make hemodynamic measurements in the 1950s (1). With the advent of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in the late 1970s, interventional cardiologists replaced brachial cut-downs with transfemoral access but remained troubled by an 8% rate of major bleeding or transfusion (2). In the 1990s, Campeau and Kiemeneij introduced radial access for PCI as a safer alternative to femoral approaches (3).

Radial artery cardiac catheterization: changing the convincing data/work to change (CD/WC) ratio.
Cardiac catheterization is one of the commonest procedures done worldwide. Although the risks of the procedure are small, it is plagued by patient dissatisfaction due to the prolonged bed rest after the procedure and groin bleeding related to the femoral artery puncture site. There have been many attempts to decrease or eliminate the bed rest postprocedure, including the development of numerous...
متن کاملIncidence of radial artery occlusion in radial angiography compared with snuffbox angiography
Background: Transradial access is one of the main access techniques in angiography. This method is technically more difficult as it is associated with radial artery occlusion. Radial artery cannulation from the dorsal surface of the hand in the snuffbox area has been introduced as a suitable solution to overcome some of the disadvantages of the standard radial artery method. This study was cond...

(Reviewer 1): You started the procedure with a 6 fr right femoral artery sheath. Considering the standard size of the sheath, why didn't you choose a radial artery access? As previously published in this paper: Seven french radial artery access for PCI: a prospective single-center experience, a larger radial artery sheath is feasible and well tolerated by the patients. (please mention this stud...

Classification of land use extraction always been one of the most important applications of remote sensing and why different methods are created. Over time and with greater accuracy were developed more advanced methods that increase the accuracy and the extraction classes that were closer together in terms of quality are better. SVM is one of these methods in the study of this method for the ex...
متن کاملThe Radial Approach in the Cardiac Catheterization
The radial or transradial (TR) approach for coronary angiography was first described by Campeau in 1989 [1], and the technique was extended to percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) and stenting by Kiemeneij and Laarman since 1993 [2]. Many studies and meta-analyses have compared the TR approach with the former approaches, specially the transfemoral (TF). The most recent data wil...
